Receptionist/SecretaryEmployment Type: ContractWork Hours: 40 hrs./week Work site: 100% OnsiteLocation: Various DMV offices located in Syracuse and North Syracuse. Job Duration: 2 YearsClosing: 09/24/2026.Position OverviewThe New York State Department of Motor Vehicles has an immediate need for temporary help at the DMV offices located in Syracuse and North Syracuse.Syracuse address: 4671 Onondaga Blvd, Syracuse, NY 13219North Syracuse address: 5801 Taft Rd, North Syracuse, NY 13212Job DutiesGreet customers.Screen and process customer paperwork.Manage customer flow using the queuing system.Grade and record results of vision tests.Enter passing vision test results into the computer system.Provide guidance to customers using DMV kiosks.Capture customer photos for driver's licenses.Proctor various DMV tests.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to learn windows based applications, and vendor based application to issue eye exams, check in customers, and screen paperwork.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a New York State Agency.Familiarity with DMV operations or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.Misc.
