Recreation AideEarn between $18.75 - $22.63 based on experience with an additional $.65 shift differential!!Glens Falls Center is actively seeking Recreation Aides for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Glens Falls, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience with recreation therapy/activities and true enjoyment of working with the elderly.Duties:Plan, develop, and lead engaging recreation programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs.Create and maintain monthly activity calendars that reflect variety and innovation.Document participation and progress accurately using SigmaCare, PointClickCare, or similar documentation systemsCollaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident well-being and individualized care plansEnsure compliance with regulatory standards while promoting a positive, inclusive environmentVersatile in cooking/baking, singing, dancing, arts & crafts, and technology to provide a wide range of activities.Design & Implement recreational programs for Residents.Work directly with Residents on units, without direct supervision.Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.Assist recreation specialists & set up program areas as needed.Keep daily attendance and document residents' participation in activities.Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units.Communicate related information to other individuals directly involved in Resident careBe familiar with established emergency procedures.Requirements:Must be upbeat, energetic, enthusiastic, and have a caring personality.Must be a Certified Nursing AssistantEnjoy working with the elderlyExp. with recreation therapy/activities a plusHigh school diploma/equivalentStrong computer skills necessaryAbility to work effectively as a team memberAbility to multi-taskExperience working with older adults, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.Certification in dementia care strongly preferred.Knowledge of person-centered care philosophy.Proficiency in electronic medical record systems such as SigmaCare or PointClickCare.Strong organizational skills and the ability to create innovative and engaging calendars/programs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.About Us:Glens Falls Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is a 120-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located on the border of Warren and Washington Counties.
