Position: Recreation/Activity Therapist
Shift: Days - 8 Hours: Monday - Friday and Every Other Weekend (Flexible schedule preferred)
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields is required:
Music Therapy
Art Therapy
Dance and Movement Therapy
Recreation Therapy
Occupational Therapy
Physical Therapy
Educational roles involving Expressive Arts
Qualifications: Understanding of psychiatric patient care techniques and mental illness.
Current registration, certification as CTRS, or licensure in accordance with state and/or national board standards in the specific field of allied health (e.g., art, recreational, music therapy, psychodrama therapy, occupational therapy, dance, and movement therapy).
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
CPR certification is required.
Position Summary:
The Recreation/Activity Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned programs. Key responsibilities include: Completing activity therapy assessments.
Facilitating patient groups and individual therapy using various expressive therapy modalities.
Defining and implementing treatment plan interventions as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Maintaining all clinical documentation.
Providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling.
This role plays a critical part in enhancing the therapeutic experience for patients through engagement in expressive arts and recreational activities.
