Job description
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is a premier autonomous institution established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for the promotion of high-quality science education and research in the country.
Position
Joint Research Fellow (JRF) – The contribution of cross‑species innate immune responses to the host control of Q‑fever.
Funding
Indo‑UK DBT BBSRC grant.
Qualifications
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course along with any one of the following: (i) Selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR‑UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE; (ii) Other National level examinations by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
Candidates with academic and technical proficiency in one of the relevant areas (microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, cell biology) and at least one year of research experience are preferred.
Training in cell culture workflow, cloning, microscopy, handling of bacterial pathogens, infection studies, and BSL2/BSL3 practices are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Conduct research on the contribution of cross‑species innate immune responses to host control of Q‑fever, including laboratory work and data analysis.

Position Details
Number of posts: 1
Fellowship amount: Rs 37,000 + HRA, as applicable.
Tenure: 1 year, renewable after a year subject to performance.
Age limit: Max. 35 years (relaxations applicable as per Government of India guidelines).
