Use technical manuals, wiring diagrams, service information, and manufacturer guidance to complete repairs accurately.

Complete work orders, inspection reports, parts records, repair documentation, and maintenance records accurately and on time.

Support the safe preparation of trailers for inspection, release, dispatch, and return to service.

Maintain clean, organised, and safe work areas, tools, equipment, and vehicles.

Follow company procedures, risk assessments, environmental requirements, and health and safety regulations.

Support urgent breakdowns or service requirements when required by the operation.

Work cooperatively with other technicians and assist with technical investigations and fleet improvement activities.

Requirements

Previous experience as a reefer technician, trailer technician, refrigeration engineer, mobile engineer, HGV technician, or in a similar role.

Practical experience maintaining and repairing transport refrigeration units and refrigerated trailers.

Working knowledge of refrigeration principles, electrical systems, mechanical components, and temperature-control equipment.

Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, service instructions, and equipment documentation.

Experience using diagnostic tools, electrical test equipment, pressure gauges, and common workshop tools.

Understanding of preventative maintenance programmes, fault diagnosis, and equipment safety checks.

Relevant technical qualification in refrigeration, air conditioning, vehicle maintenance, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Relevant refrigerant handling certification or equivalent industry accreditation is preferred.

Knowledge of UK health and safety requirements and environmentally responsible refrigerant handling practices.

Commitment to safe working practices, quality standards, and reliable customer service.
