Asphalt Steel Wheel Roller OperatorReeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Asphalt Steel Wheel Roller Operator in Duncan, SC. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively run a roller for the compaction of asphalt and/or dirt and other materials for road and commercial construction. Asphalt Roller Operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Must have a basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine.Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.Must keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.Must have an understanding of control levers for movement of the machine.Must have a priority for safety and welfare of workers around the machine.Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.Job Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age.High School Diploma or GED (preferred), but not necessarily required.Minimum of 1-3 months of work-related experience and/or training.Must be able to work day or night shifts.Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Provide own transportation to and from work.Driving License (preferred).Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or walk; talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.
