Job description
Refrigeration / Boiler Room Operator – 1st ShiftWe are seeking an experienced Refrigeration / Boiler Room Operator to maintain and monitor refrigeration, boiler, HVAC, and related plant systems in a busy manufacturing environment.The ideal candidate will have prior boiler operator experience and strong troubleshooting skills. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly preferred.Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain boiler, refrigeration, HVAC, and related plant systemsTroubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment involving ammonia and other refrigerantsPerform daily inspections and operational checks of refrigeration and plant equipmentMonitor ammonia refrigeration systems, coolers, HVAC systems, and related equipmentPerform scheduled maintenance on evaporators, condensers, and other refrigeration equipmentMonitor, clean, and repair plant systems including condensers and filtration systemsIdentify equipment issues and perform repairs to minimize downtimeChange and clean filters as neededMaintain accurate equipment logs, records, checklists, and other required documentationFollow OSHA, EPA, GMP, and plant safety requirementsFollow all Lockout/Tagout and other required safety proceduresRequest parts and supplies as neededMaintain clean and organized work areasComplete required paperwork and maintenance documentationPrior boiler operator experience requiredMinimum of 2 years of refrigeration maintenance or related experience preferred/requiredStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience with ammonia refrigeration systems strongly preferredKnowledge of plant safety and GMP requirementsAbility to read blueprints, drawings, and plansKnowledge of planned maintenance practicesAbility to work independently and prioritize multiple tasksStrong communication and organizational skillsBasic computer and spreadsheet skillsAbility to complete work and purchase requestsRETA Level 1 Industrial experience preferredMust be able to work scheduled hours and required overtimeAbility to lift, push, or pull up to 75 poundsAbility to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, and reachAbility to work around machinery and moving equipmentAbility to work in cold, wet, hot, humid, and noisy environmentsAbility to work safely in a manufacturing/production facility
