Refrigeration TechnicianHilliard, Ohio, United States Refrigeration TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician's role is to accomplish the continuous effective freezing and frozen storage of food products and ingredient materials, and cooling of the physical plant buildings through the effective and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all plant ammonia and nitrogen refrigeration systems and associated freezers, air conditioning, and chilled water systems.This position's scope includes system operation, preventive maintenance, and mechanical and electrical repair. Contribute to the company's profit and well-being by performing tasks in a safe, efficient, quality-conscious, and cost-conscious manner and by working cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers.Keeping logs and other information on operating results and problemsAnalyzing information to determine preventive maintenance planTroubleshooting problems and physically repairing equipmentUsing hand tools and specialty tools for repair and maintenanceInspecting equipment routinely using sight, sound, and gaugesReading manuals, blueprints, and information to ensure proper operation and repairOrdering parts and supplies for maintenance or rebuildingMaintaining clean work areas in line with GMP requirementsApplying safe work practices and using personal protective equipmentFollowing good maintenance techniques and applicable codesMaintaining GMPs for personal hygiene and housekeepingMeeting product safety and quality requirementsIdentifying system problems via data collection and inspectionDeveloping good working relationships and resolving conflicts respectfullyCooperating with team goals and attending meetingsAdhering to plant rules, policies, and company ethicsAssisting in training team members as neededUsing electrical, pipe fitting, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to support other technicians13 years hands-on experience maintaining an industrial ammonia refrigeration system (vacuum systems, screw compressors, blast/storage freezers, condensers, chilled water cooling systems)Experience with nitrogen flash freezers and Reco/Frigoscandia brand freezers highly desiredElectrical, pipe fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics experience beneficialBasic business traits: attendance, punctuality, hygiene, and high school level education in communication, reading, and mathTechnical training in ammonia refrigeration, nitrogen freezing systems, mechanical/electrical maintenanceKnowledge of microprocessors, Volt 3-phase AC electricity, pipe fitting, conduit installation, wiring, pneumatics, hydraulicsSkilled in all aspects of mechanical/electrical maintenance of industrial food freezing systems
