Job description

ABOUT UNBOUNDED

We are a team of former classroom teachers, district and school leaders, curriculum writers, and education experts unified by our desire to see every student thrive in school.

Our commitment to every learner unites us. UnboundEd works side-by-side with teachers, coaches, principals, and district leaders to ensure every student has access to grade-level, engaging, affirming, and meaningful — GLEAM™ — instruction. By cultivating the mindsets, knowledge, and skills at the heart of truly transformative teaching and learning, we can break the predictability of historic achievement patterns so all kids thrive.

In 2023, UnboundEd joined forces with Pivot Learning and CORE Learning to expand our offerings and drive long-needed changes in instruction, especially in the highest-need schools.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Partnerships, the Regional Director is a customer-facing role responsible for cultivating new partnerships, strengthening existing relationships, and promoting high-quality program engagements. This position requires occasional travel (up to 40%) to support customer meetings, conferences, and events.

This role is critical in UnboundEd’s sales strategy: qualifying leads, generating opportunities, and advancing them through the sales cycle. The Regional Director is ideal for an educator, consultative sales professional, or customer-focused leader eager to grow as part of a dynamic, mission-driven team. As a Regional Director, your work directly shapes educators' professional learning experiences, ensuring that students—particularly those historically underserved—receive the high-quality instruction they deserve.

UnboundEd is a virtual organization, and this exempt position can be based anywhere in the United States. UnboundEd has core business hours, during which we expect all staff to be available from 9 am to 5 pm local time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Partnership Development

Develop a territory growth plan that aligns with annual revenue goals and key customer targets.

Leverage industry insights, data, and historical sales to identify top prospects and generate new opportunities.

Provide strategic consulting to your district partners to assist them in meeting their instructional objectives.

Build and maintain a strong pipeline; design sales strategies tailored to account/territory needs.

Accurately track accounts, opportunities, and next steps in the CRM.

Use CRM insights to advance opportunities through the sales cycle and close deals.

Consistently meet or exceed individual and team revenue goals

Client Management

Provide strategic advice to district partners to help them achieve their goals.

Deliver high-quality interactions that create exceptional customer experiences.

Build trust and serve as a valued partner to schools and districts.

Develop expertise in all UnboundEd programs to recommend relevant professional learning solutions.

Actively listen, assess needs, and propose the best-fit services.

Lead customer meetings and strategies that drive engagement and long-term partnerships.

Provide consistent follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and impact.

Stay current on industry trends through conferences, research, internal training, and professional learning.

Requirements

Education:

A bachelor’s degree is required (field open); an advanced degree is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience required; preference for supervisory, sales, or large-scale project leadership background.

A successful track record of quota attainment that exceeds $2 million annually.

The strongest candidates will demonstrate:

A learning orientation and dedication to equity and inclusion.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

UnboundEd offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience. The annual salary hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000, plus an incentive compensation plan that can bring on-track earnings to $200K-$250K.

UnboundEd bases compensation offers on relevant years of experience, internal equity, and company budgets. Because of our strong commitment to equity and growth, UnboundEd does not negotiate compensation offers.

We also offer a generous benefits package that includes take-as-you-need vacation time, group medical, dental, and vision plans, disability and life insurance plans, and an employer-sponsored 401K retirement plan with a 5% employer contribution and no vesting period.
