Job description
OVERVIEW
We are seeking someone that is currently a Senior Electrical or Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) or a Sr. Project Manager to work directly for our Engineering clients within their Charlotte offices. In this role, not only will you provide technical and design services for mechanical (MEP) projects, but you will also be managing projects, with the potential for leading a team down the line.
DURING YOUR WORK DAY YOU WILL
Provide technical and design services for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design/construction drawings and specifications for healthcare facilities.
Conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare various reports, produce design drawings, prepare technical specifications and prepare permit submittals for mechanical engineering projects.
Develop new clients as well as deliver responsive, high‑quality service to all clients through operational excellence.
Prepare proposals and make presentations to clients.
Be responsible for allocation of resources, manpower balancing and assignment to projects, and the timeliness, quality and adherence to established budgets for the group's projects.
Function as Project Manager when required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
NC PE registration (or ability to quickly acquire NC PE through reciprocity).
15+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical design and system analysis.
2+ years of leadership of teams and/or projects.
Leadership and business development talents to grow the business and expand market share in the healthcare infrastructure sector; prior healthcare experience preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT
Experience with healthcare work is preferred but not required.
Partner focused with a strong sense of urgency.
Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to identify opportunities and go after them proactively.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment; must be high energy, motivated and a self-starter.
8+ years in the AEC Industry.
