Vaco has an exciting opportunity for a Regional HR Manager in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a direct hire role that sits 100% onsite with 25% travel.
About the Role
A leading provider of transportation, logistics, and cargo-handling services is seeking a Regional Human Resources Manager to support a multi-site operation across several U.S. locations. This position will provide both strategic and hands‑on HR leadership in a fast-paced, unionized environment, overseeing the full employee lifecycle, labor relations, compliance, payroll coordination, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of progressive Human Resources management experience
3–5 years of experience in unionized environments, including labor relations and union dues administration (required)
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Ability to obtain industry-required credentials and site access certifications
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience supporting transportation, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations
Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent
Ideal Candidate Profile
Demonstrated, hands‑on labor relations experience, including grievance management, collective bargaining agreement interpretation, union communication, and contract administration
Comfortable serving as the primary HR leader for multiple locations with significant day‑to‑day operational involvement
Willing to work onsite and travel regularly to support regional facilities
Available to start within a short timeframe
