Position Summary

The Regional Medical Director (RMD) serves as the senior physician leader for an assigned region of approximately 10–20 outpatient practice locations, depending on geographic area and practice size. Lead strategic initiatives while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Develop future physician leaders and strengthen organizational leadership.

Required

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).

Current unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure in Georgia.

Minimum of seven years of progressive physician leadership experience.

Demonstrated success leading physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams.

Experience overseeing multiple ambulatory practice locations.

Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

Willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.

Preferred

Experience with value-based care, population health, ACOs, Medicare Advantage, and commercial quality programs.

Knowledge of ambulatory practice operations, revenue cycle management, and physician performance improvement.

Graduate leadership education (MBA, MHA, MMM, CMPE, or equivalent) is a plus.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a collaborative physician leader who combines clinical credibility with strategic vision, operational insight, and a passion for developing people. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to physicians and executive leadership while helping Southeast Medical Group achieve its goals for quality, growth, provider engagement, and organizational excellence.
