Role Description
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will provide direct, one-on-one ABA therapy to children in the Greater Chicago Area as part of a collaborative clinical team. This full-time, on-site role includes implementing treatment plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), collecting and recording data on targeted behaviors, and assisting in skill-building across communication, social, self-help, and play domains. The RBT will follow behavior intervention protocols, support generalization of skills in clinic and community settings, and maintain a safe, engaging environment for each child. Day-to-day responsibilities also include communicating observations to supervisors, participating in team meetings and training, and partnering with families to reinforce strategies and goals. The role requires adherence to ethical and professional guidelines and consistent use of compassionate, child-centered care.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in implementing ABA treatment plans, behavior support strategies, and data collection methods.
Candidates should possess skills in working directly with children, building rapport with families, and supporting communication and social skill development.
Candidates should possess skills in maintaining detailed session notes, following clinical protocols, and collaborating with BCBAs and interdisciplinary teams.
Candidates should possess skills in time management, organization, and maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced pediatric environment.
Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or eligibility to obtain RBT certification within a specified timeframe is preferred.
Experience in pediatric ABA, special education, developmental disabilities, or related fields is beneficial.
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or a related discipline is preferred.
Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including sitting on the floor, playing with children, and safely supporting behavior interventions as needed.
