Job description
Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure safe surgical procedures and optimal patient outcomes.
What you will need
BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
Successful completion of an RNFA Program
Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
BLS Certification American Heart Association
Minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience .
Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating
What you will do
Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient
Provide hemostasis under surgeon supervision, including clamping, coagulating, and ligating vessels
Performs wound closures as directed, including suturing drains, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin
Handles tissue as directed by a surgeon.
Applies surgical dressing, application of casts, splints, or immobilizing devices
Assists in surgical case preparation (equipment, supplies, and instruments).
Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion, when appropriate.
Selects and applies appropriate wound dressing.
Provides assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue.
Anticipate the surgeon's needs to expedite the operative procedure.
