Lakeside Behavioral Health System has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region since 1969. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free- standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States, located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County. It offers comprehensive programs for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors with disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, mental illness and addictive diseases.

Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with Lakeside's philosophy and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. The RN prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The RN may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Qualifications
Job Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
Experience: One year of prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse.
Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management, and CPR training.
