Evans Army Community Hospital is a state-of-the-art military medical center serving the Fort Carson community, including active-duty service members, retirees, and their families. As part of the Defense Health Agency, Evans ACH delivers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care across a wide range of specialties including primary care, surgery, radiology, gastroenterology, physical therapy, behavioral health, and women's services. Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing GI procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Perform pre-procedure nursing assessments including patient history review, medication reconciliation, allergy verification, and readiness assessment
Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access and administer medications per provider orders and facility protocols
Monitor patients receiving moderate/conscious sedation including cardiac monitoring, respiratory status, oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic stability
Recognize and respond to adverse events and emergencies in accordance with BLS and ACLS protocols
Provide post-procedure recovery care and patient education for discharge readiness and follow-up care
Assist with preparation, operation, and maintenance of gastroenterology procedural equipment
Document all patient care activities accurately and timely within the electronic medical record
Coordinate patient care in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Qualifications Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
Experience: 2 years of nursing experience in an outpatient setting within the past 3 years, plus a minimum of 1 year of bedside hospital experience. Must have experience performing care and treatment of patients in a gastroenterology setting.
Certifications: BLS and ALS (ACLS) - must be maintained current throughout assignment.
Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or jurisdiction.

Schedule
Monday - Friday, (8-hour shifts). 30-minute uncompensated lunch.
