Position: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Step-Down Unit

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Intensive Care Step-Down Unit at a hospital in Sanford, FL. As a Registered Nurse in the ICU Step-Down Unit, you will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients who are transitioning from the intensive care unit to a lower level of care. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to monitor and assess patients' conditions, administer medications, and provide support and education to patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, lab results, and overall condition
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to provide updates on patients' conditions
Educate patients and their families about their care plan and any necessary lifestyle changes
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
Document all patient care and interactions accurately and thoroughly
Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an intensive care or step-down unit
BLS and ACLS certifications
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts as needed
Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary
