nDepartment Details
nThe Interventional Radiology Department is located at both the Broadway Hospital and SMCF and is a medical sub-specialty of radiology utilizing minimally-invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. Interventional radiology diagnoses and treats patients using the least invasive techniques currently available to minimize risk to the patient and improve health outcomes. Patient populations include: angiograms (venous, arterial, renal, cerebral), embolization, gastric tube care, Permcath care, fistulgrams, para/thoracentesis, TIPS, IVC filters, aortograms, vertebroplasty, venograms, ELVS/phlebectomy procedure, nephrostogram, esophogram, abscessogram, biopsies and injections.
nPrimary hours fall between Monday-Friday . Call rotation to include 3-4 weeknights/month and one weekend every other month.

nResponsibilities
nnnPlans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions

nnCollaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care

nnEmpathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care

nnDemonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise

n nQualifications
nGraduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
nCurrently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
