Job description
Methodist Healthcare in San Antonio seeks a Registered Nurse for IV Infusion Therapy on a PRN basis. In this role, you will deliver specialized IV infusion care, including initiation, monitoring, and discontinuation of therapies in an acute care setting. You’ll assess patients, administer medications and fluids, manage peripheral and central lines, and document care in the EHR. RNs collaborate closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and uphold strict safety and infection control standards. Provide IV infusion therapy, including initiation, monitoring, and discontinuation of infusions
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor response to treatments
Administer medications, fluids, and blood products per provider orders and protocols
Manage peripheral and central venous access devices using aseptic technique
Document care accurately in the EHR and communicate changes to the care team
Educate patients and families on therapies, side effects, and home care instructions
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize care
Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards at all times
Respond to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions
