The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery provides direct care to patients, focusing on achieving desired outcomes through effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. This role is ideal for those looking to expand their nursing skills while caring for complex patients.

What You'll Do
Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
Perform age and disease specific assessments independently.
Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
Identify patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
Develop a plan of care with strategies and interventions to attain expected outcomes.
Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Identify ethical issues in the practice setting and address them with the team.
Requirements
Education
Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required
BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire
Experience
Six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program
Licenses & Certifications
Current and valid Registered Nurse license in NJ
BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire
