Position Summary
BMC is a leading trauma and safety net hospital in New England. As a registered nurse on the Medical Surgical‑Orthopedic Unit, you will deliver patient‑centered care across orthopedics, hip fracture, ENT, and OMFS populations.
Schedule: 36‑hour nights, every other weekend/holiday. Location: Med Surg – Ortho Unit.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit: assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and educate patients.
Communicate effectively with the health‑care team, patients, and families.
Coordinate and delegate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data.
Follow BMC nursing guidelines and policies.
Assist leadership in quality‑improvement projects.
Job Requirements
Licensed as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
1+ year RN experience (preferred).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for certain units.
Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred); ability to obtain BSN within four years.
Relevant clinical experience and specialty certifications required for certain practice areas.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to perform job duties.
Basic computer proficiency.
Fluency in another language is a plus.
