DESCRIPTION
Vision Quest Solutions is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide inpatient Medical-Surgical nursing services at Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, New Mexico.
The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care to a diverse inpatient population, including patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, surgical and post-operative needs, and palliative-care needs. Clinical populations may include patients with diabetes, alcohol withdrawal, pneumonia, sepsis, and other complex medical conditions. GovTribe
Responsibilities include:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient monitoring
Provide direct inpatient Medical-Surgical nursing care
Care for acute and chronically ill patients
Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Monitor changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
Coordinate care with physicians and other members of the healthcare team
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Provide patient and family education
Support safe admissions, transfers, and discharges
Maintain infection-control and patient-safety standards
Float to a comparable unit within Northern Navajo Medical Center if required
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license
Qualified to provide inpatient Medical-Surgical nursing services
Current required professional certifications and licensure
Demonstrated Medical-Surgical nursing competency
Ability to successfully complete required credentialing and onboarding
Ability to meet applicable IHS background/security requirements
Ability to work 12-hour shifts
Ability to work rotating weekends
Ability to provide reliable scheduled coverage
Current resume and applicable license/certification documentation
Ability to complete the required nursing skills checklist
