Registered Nurse Neurosurgery-Full-time Days

Job Description
The Nurse Clinician works in a multidisciplinary environment that requires exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, and administrative units.
Responsibilities
Maintain a safe, clean work environment and ensure OSHA compliance.
Provide pre-attending care, performing comprehensive assessments of chief complaints, and documenting all nursing assessments.
Perform routine nursing duties independently, including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital sign measurements, and lab specimen preparation.
Interpret abnormalities detected in tests and procedures, and take remedial action while documenting interventions.
Communicate and collaborate with clinical and administrative departments and outside agencies as needed.
Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills.
Manage urgent/emergent medical situations per organization protocols, operating emergency equipment.
Serve as a resource for staff and physicians, delegating tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.
Comply with all patient care policies and recommend improvements to management.
Initiate and coordinate patient education, ensuring patient understanding and demonstrating return demonstration.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Nursing.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
State Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
Certification in Basic CPR.
Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (may be required for certain positions).
