At Cottage Hospital, our Medical Surgical Unit provides compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals with acute medical conditions, post-surgical needs, orthopedic procedures, rehabilitation, and other inpatient services. As a night shift nurse, you'll collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care while building strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Summary
Provides comprehensive nursing care through the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within the Registered Nurse scope of practice. Delivers safe, compassionate, evidence-based care while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Demonstrates the knowledge and clinical judgment necessary to care for patients across the lifespan by assessing patient needs, recognizing changes in condition, developing individualized plans of care, educating patients and families, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Prioritize care for patients with varying levels of acuity while recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning.
Delegate appropriate responsibilities to LPNs and LNAs while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes.
Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation.
Utilize critical thinking and sound clinical judgment in emergency and non-emergency situations.
Maintain current clinical competencies through required education and continuing professional development.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of teamwork, safety, and excellence.
Qualifications
Education
Preferred
Associates or better in Nursing or related field.
Licenses & Certifications
Required
ACLS
Basic Life Support
Preferred
RN License
