About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the PEDS Med/Surg unit is responsible for providing age-specific care to a designated group of patients through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in collaboration and leadership within a healthcare team.

$62 - $94/hour

Location: New Hyde Park, NY

Facility: Northwell Health

Schedule: Full-Time, Night shift

What You'll Do

Conduct patient interviews and assess health status across multiple systems.

Determine coping mechanisms and identify cultural/ethnic requirements.

Develop individualized patient goals and establish care priorities.

Maintain constant vigilance over patient care and safety precautions.

Administer prescribed treatments and provide emotional support.

Document patient treatment, activity, and condition accurately.

Collaborate with care team members on treatment regimens.

Administer and document medications correctly and educate patients.

Participate in discharge planning and coordinate referrals.

Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

Education:

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

1 year or more of PEDS RN experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.

Specialized certifications as needed.
