n n n Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursingn n n n n

n n n Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practicesn n n n n

n n n Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Associationn n n n n

n n Physical Requirements and Working Conditionsn n

n n n Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twistn n n frequentlyn n n throughout the workdayn n n .n n n n n

n n n Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and suppliesn n n .n n n n n

n n n Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person presentn n n .n n n n n

n n n Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch withn n n abilityn n n to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functionsn n n .n n n n n

n n n Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machinesn n n .n n n n n

n n n Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if neededn n n .n n n n n

n n n May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must ben n n wornn n n as necessaryn n n .n n n n n

n n n Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditionsn n n .n n n n n

n n n Physical Abilities Testing may be requiredn n n .n n n n n

n n n Additionaln n n department specific physical requirements may ben n n identifiedn n n for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.n n n n n
