About This Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Short Stay Unit provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, and implementation of treatment plans. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in a fast-paced environment and are skilled in collaborating with healthcare teams.

Pay: $62 - $94/hour
Location: New Hyde Park, NY
Facility: Northwell Health
Schedule: Full-Time, Night shift
What You'll Do
Conduct patient interviews and assess health status across multiple systems.
Determine coping mechanisms and identify cultural requirements for patient satisfaction.
Develop individualized patient goals and coordinate cost-effective care.
Administer prescribed treatments and provide emotional support to patients.
Document patient care and communicate effectively with families and care teams.
Assist physicians during treatments and keep them informed of patient changes.
Educate patients and families on medications and health conditions.
Evaluate the effectiveness of care and implement improvements as needed.
Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications: Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. Specialized certifications as needed.
