Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Step-Down CWR

Overview
The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.
Responsibilities
Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.
Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments.
Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
Manages care of patients.
Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
Provides patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Float to units within competency as required.
Cardiac Vascular & Post Surgical Stepdown Unit.
Education & Certifications
Required Education: ASN. Preferred Education: BSN.
Required Certifications & Licensure: ACLS-AHA, NIHSS, BLS-AHA, CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours, Telemetry, NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a MS/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting required.
Must have a strong MS/Tele background.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Ventilator.
Post-cardiac surgery experience.
Post-surgical experience.
Schedule & Experience
Neuro ICU Stepdown position
Neuro/Stroke/ Neurosurgery experience REQUIRED
7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
3 x 12 hr shifts
Weekends/ Holidays as Needed
No On-Call Requirement
Float to units as needed
Required Years Of Experience: 2 years
Preferred Years Of Experience: 5 Years
Other
Epic charting experience; Ventilator management (preferred).
