nRegistered Nurse (RN) - ICU (Critical Care) - Lourdes Hospital
nJob Summary:
nThe ICU (Critical Care) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:
nnnUtilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
n
nnDetermining the priority of the patient's problems and needs
n
nnImplementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care
n
nnDeveloping and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
n
nnEnsuring a safe and therapeutic environment
n
n nEssential Functions:
nnnCollaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
n
nnConducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
n
nnSynthesizes and prioritizes information in order to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action using clinical judgement and clinical inquiry.
n
nnAnticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions
n
nnAdminister medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures
n
nnOther duties as assigned
n
n nEducation:
nnBachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
n nCertifications:
nnnCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
n
nnBLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire); PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, required in lieu of BLS/ACLS for Pediatric Units, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
n
n nExperience:
nnn1 year of RN experience (required)
n
nn6 months RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit (preferred)
n
