Registered Nurse Oncology BMT (Full Time Nights) - The George Washington University Hospital
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Oncology RN to join our Medical/Surgical Oncology unit. As a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital, GW Hospital has earned recognition for its exceptional Cancer care. As an Oncology/BMT RN, your responsibilities will encompass administering chemotherapy, closely monitoring oncology‑specific complications such as febrile neutropenia, oncologic emergencies, and overseeing blood and platelet transfusions. Your role will involve collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to deliver patient‑centric care at its best.
Responsibilities
Administer chemotherapy treatments.
Monitor oncology‑specific complications, including febrile neutropenia and oncologic emergencies.
Oversee blood and platelet transfusions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide patient‑centric care.
Qualifications
Current RN license in good standing with the state licensing board.
BSN or enrollment in a BSN program to be completed within five years.
Minimum of one year of medical‑surgical experience in an acute‑care setting.
BLS certification; ACLS within three months of hire.
Excellent critical‑thinking, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
