Job description
Role Overview: Responsible for managing daily operations of the Operating Room as a Registered Nurse (RN), providing comprehensive patient care, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver individualized nursing care based on the nursing process, addressing patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and educational needs.
Manage staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and staff development, including orientation and training.
Oversee departmental budget, monitor expenses, and manage supplies and equipment to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Participate in quality assurance, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance efforts.
Handle employee relations, ethical issues, and maintain confidentiality.
Support survey readiness and participate in committee activities.
Qualifications & Skills
Current RN license in the relevant state.
Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience; management experience preferred.
Strong decision-making, accuracy, and computer skills.
Ability to work under deadlines and handle diverse situations independently.
Preferred certifications include ACLS, PALS, CCRN, PCCN, or other specialized credentials depending on clinical area.
Education
Nursing degree from an accredited institution; bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred.
