Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU/Telemetry
Job Type: PRN | Days
Schedule: 12‑hour shifts, PRN – as needed, days (7a‑7p). Holidays and weekends may be required.
About the Role
You will provide nursing care in a 22‑bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry unit with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:5. The unit focuses on patients with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions, requiring advanced cardiac monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
Provide care suitable to patient condition and age.
Perform timely and accurate documentation of medical necessity in the medical record.
Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.
Qualifications
Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license.
Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
AHA Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
AHA ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
Preferred: one year of experience.
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, minimal supervision; able to work in a stressful environment.
