8 Pediatrics is a 28-bed acute care pediatric unit serving patients ages 0–12 with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. The culture on 8 pediatrics is rooted in teamwork, collaboration, and shared dedication to providing family-centered, high-quality care. Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
Minimum of 4-5 years of pediatric inpatient experience highly preferred.
Demonstrated clinical expertise and strong critical thinking skills.
Previous leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Clinical Lead, Preceptor, or other informal leadership role preferred.
Experience coordinating patient flow, staffing assignments, and interdisciplinary collaboration preferred.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach staff while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

We’re Looking For
Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

What You’ll Do
Leading and coordinating daily unit operations to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Making staffing and patient assignments based on patient acuity, staff competency, and workflow.
Serving as the clinical resource and first point of escalation for staff, patients, and providers.
Supporting patient flow by coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Promoting patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
Coaching, mentoring, and supporting frontline staff while fostering a positive team culture.
Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and care coordination.
Responding to emergencies and operational issues while maintaining situational awareness across the unit.
Assisting with orientation, education, performance improvement initiatives, and implementation of evidence-based practice.
