Penn Medicine Princeton Health (PMPH) is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to work the day shift within the Cardiac Cath Lab. The Cath Lab at PMPH has been in operation since 1998, resides within the Main OR, and performs over 500 procedures annually, with projected growth.
Scheduling Requirements
6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., 5 days per week (day shift)
On‑call requirement within 30 minutes
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Scrub and circulate in diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and percutaneous coronary interventions
Administer moderate sedation and monitor sedation levels during and after procedures
Prepare patients for procedures and administer medications pre, intra, and post procedure
Assist in diagnosis of heart disease (muscle, valves, coronary arteries)
Perform examinations pre and post-catheterization, and procedures such as temporary pacemaker implantation, balloon angioplasty, and stent placement
Monitor and document vital signs, including arterial lines and pressures
Educate patients on medications, healthy lifestyle, and surgical site care before discharge
Use the EMR and maintain meticulous documentation of procedures
Competent to Use
Intra‑aortic balloon pump
Philips XPER hemodynamic monitoring system
IVUS
FFR/IFR
What We Require for this Role
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred
Related Work Experience
Minimum 2 years in a cardiac catheterization lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures (required)
Ability to scrub and circulate in this setting
Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic, and rhythm interpretation
Licensure, Certification or Registration Requirements
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACL)
Critical Care Registered Nursing credentials (CCRN) preferred
Salary Range
$43.59 – $69.47 hourly, based on experience and education.
