## Registered Nurse (RN) - Short Stay Observation Unit - Flexi NightsApply: On-Site: Sentara Louise Obici Hospital: Flexible time: Posted Today: JR- **City/State**Suffolk, VA**Work Shift**Third (Nights)**Overview:****Sentara Obici Hospital** is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our **Surgical Short Stay (SSU) Observation Unit**!Hours: Flexi/PRN - Nights 7p to 7a**About the Unit**The Observation/Short Stay Unit is an 18-bed department that specializes in observation, post-procedural monitoring, and short-term treatments, including TIA workups, stress tests, and radiology procedures. The maximum stay is typically two days per patient. Registered nurses can expect between 6 and 8 patient discharges per shift, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5 to 1:6. The unit is supported by a highly skilled team of unit coordinators, educators, and a nurse manager. It benefits from low staff turnover and a strong culture of collaboration. Additional PCT staff are available to assist with ambulation and patient care. This well-supported team is ideal for both new graduate nurses and experienced Registered Nurses looking to expand their skills.
