Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for 2 South- Acute Telemetry Unit . This is a Full Time position in Suffolk, VA.
Sign on Bonus up to $20,000 available for qualified candidates for Night shift.
Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates for Day Shift.

About the Unit
The Telemetry unit at Sentara Obici Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. 2 South also cares for pre/post catheterization, acute stroke, and post procedural neuro cases. This 25-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:6 with assistance of Patient Care Techs. The unit cares for patients with acuity higher than a typical medical-surgical unit. 2 South Acute Cardiac is also preparing for a transition to a Cardiac PCU step-down before year's end, making it an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic, high-acuity setting. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Education
Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
BSN or MSN preferred.
Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.
Certification/Licensure
Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
BLS within 90 days of hire.
Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
NIH within 1 year of hire
Experience
Acute care nursing experience preferred
Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
