Job description
Exciting new opportunity available for an experienced Registered Nurse to support students and staff for the remainder of the school year. This full-time, contract position is ideal for a skilled RN with a background in both school nursing and legal nursing responsibilities. You'll provide essential care, guidance, and advocacy in an educational environment, helping create a safe and supportive atmosphere for learning.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Active RN license in Illinois
Demonstrated experience as a school nurse
Background in legal nurse consulting or related responsibilities
Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Flexibility for a full-time schedule throughout the rest of the academic year
Primary Responsibilities: Deliver daily medical care and manage health plans for students with ongoing conditions
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and administer first aid as needed
Maintain thorough records, ensuring compliance with state and district protocols
Provide health education to students and staff, supporting wellness initiatives on campus
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to advocate for students' medical and legal needs
Serve as a liaison among students, families, educators, and outside healthcare providers
Support the implementation and review of IEPs, 504 plans, and other student accommodations
