About This Role
The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population, focusing on expanding knowledge and skills while providing effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team. What You'll Do
Collect comprehensive data pertaining to the patient's health or situation.
Perform age and disease specific assessments independently.
Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
Identify patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
Develop and coordinate a patient/family focused plan of care.
Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Implement age and disease specific care in an organized manner.
Perform continuous point-of-care electronic documentation.
Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning technology.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing strongly preferred or completed within 3 years of hire.
Experience
6+ months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.
1 year of nursing experience in critical care or ED preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required.
Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR and ACLS certification required.
Telemetry certification required.
