This unique full-time RN opportunity is designed specifically for experienced Medical-Surgical nurses with at least two years of Med-Surg nursing experience who are interested in joining a dedicated team with a clear pathway to permanent employment.
From day one, you'll work on a specific unit, allowing you to build relationships with your team, gain familiarity with the practice environment, and make an immediate impact on patient care. Following successful completion of your 90-day to 9-month assignment, you'll have the opportunity to apply and transition into a permanent RN position within the assigned department or into PNRT.

Please note: During the initial assignment period, this position is not eligible for Novant Health benefits and is compensated at a premium flat hourly rate.
What We're Looking For: Education : 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. BSN preferred.
Experience : Consecutive year within defined specialty (Med Surg, Tele, Critical Care, ED or Women's), preferred.
Licensure/Certification: RN License in Appropriate State, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Specialty Certification, required.
Additional Skills (required): Appropriate customer service, effective and appropriate customer relations, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, conflict resolution, critical thinking and computer literacy. Advanced training as required by department/unit/facility per identified skill set/sub category. Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing. Has the ability to interpret information and identify each patient’s requirement for care relative to his/her age specific need. Has the knowledge and skill necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age. Successfully complete the Cardiac dysrhythmia test or Cardiac dysrhythmia course within 3 months of hire. NIH Stroke Scale certification upon hire. Specialty specific: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification for Emergency Services, Behavioral Health and Med Surg RNs; Women’s Services – Breastfeeding course; Labor and Delivery, Antepartum RN —fetal monitoring course and breastfeeding course.
What You'll Do: As a Registered Nurse, you'll provide exceptional patient care while serving as a dedicated member of a Medical-Surgical team. You'll use your clinical expertise to assess patient needs, coordinate care, and support positive outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
In this role, you will:
Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Support quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
Contribute to a positive team culture and collaborative work environment
Build the knowledge, relationships, and clinical expertise needed for a successful transition into a permanent role on your assigned unit
