Role Description The Registered Nurse at Missouri Eye Institute is a full-time, on-site role based in Joplin, MO. This team member provides direct patient care before, after, and during ophthalmic procedures, including pre-operative assessments, medication administration, OR Circulator, and post-operative monitoring and education. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with surgeons and clinical staff, preparing patients, documenting in the electronic medical record, and reinforcing safety and infection control standards.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri and current BLS certification
Experience in perioperative, ambulatory surgery, or ophthalmology care settings
Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, and care coordination skills
Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary environment
Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical protocols
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain composure in a fast-paced clinical setting
Willingness to learn new ophthalmic procedures and technologies;
prior eye care experience is a plus
