Job description
Contribute your expertise in respiratory therapy in a dynamic, multidisciplinary hospital setting encompassing adult, critical care, and NICU populations. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work within a 492-bed center featuring a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center. Both experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) and Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) with the appropriate background are encouraged to apply.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour shifts: 7:00 am-7:00 pm or 7:00 pm-7:00 am
Every other weekend rotation
Voluntary on-call available
Requirement to work one major and one minor holiday during contract as per policy
Qualifications: Valid certification as either Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist (minimum 2 years' experience for CRTs)
Recent Level III NICU experience within the past 12 months if applying for NICU-focused roles
Experience with Cerner or EPIC EMR (required for all first-time travelers)
BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; ACLS or APLS preferred
Capability to float to like units/patient locations as needed, including NICU and adult settings
Responsibilities: Deliver general and critical care respiratory therapy across varied inpatient settings
For NICU positions: manage neonatal patients, perform ground transports, and administer specialized therapies such as Nitric Oxide
Document all care details using Cerner EMR and operate a range of ventilators including PB 840/980, Drager VN500, and LTV systems
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient respiratory outcomes
Adhere to hospital guidelines regarding orientation (24 classroom hours + 24 unit hours for most travelers) and dress code (scrubs in any color except neon)

$1,800 - $1,958/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
