nHours: 12-hour shifts – 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
nLocation : Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS
n**If you are a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) you are encouraged to apply for this position!
nWe are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist , internally referred to as our RRT. The RRT can be referred to as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II) but someone who carries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population; in the absence of a supervisor, they may be designated as the Lead RCP, overseeing the department during their shift.
nResponsibilities
nnnW ill provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily
n
nnC onduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients
n
nnS et up, monitor , and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently
n
nnM ay be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provid e airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitat e patients in critical situations
n
nnA ssess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
n
nnE nsure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned , sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety
n
n nQualifications
nnnCurrent State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
n
nnCurrent Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire
n
nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current
n
nnAdult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current
n
nnPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire
n
nnNeonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred
n
nnAssociate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
n
nnTwo (2) years of acute care experience is preferred
n
