nThis position will be in our Free Standing Emergency Room located in Deerfield Beach
n340 S Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, FL, 33441
nA Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) helps patients with breathing problems, from premature babies to the elderly, by diagnosing, treating, and managing lung conditions like asthma, COPD, or cystic fibrosis , using diagnostic tests , oxygen therapy , mechanical ventilation , and airway clearance techniques , working with doctors to create treatment plans and educate patients on managing their respiratory health.
nEssential Functions and Responsibilities
nnnPerforms Emergency room therapies and oxygen administration following proper policy and procedure.
n
nnPerforms or assists with endotracheal intubation as indicated in a safe manner
n
nnPerforms endotracheal extubation as indicated in a safe manner.
n
nnMaintains clinical competency for mechanical ventilation in adult, pediatric and newborns.
n
nnAble to perform arterial blood gas draws and analyze in a safe and effective manner from radial, brachial and femoral arteries as well as capillary samples.
n
nnAble to insert IV lines, and draw lab work
n
nnAble to monitor cardiac rhythms and perform 12 lead EKG
n
n nEducation/Certification Requirements
nnnHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.
n
nnGraduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program required.
n
nnWork experience in all aspects of respiratory care preferred.
n
nnWilling to train for IV insertion and monitor tech shared roleCompetency in blood gas analysis, Spirometry.
n
nnRegistration by the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
n
n nLicensure
nnnCurrent State of Florida License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the Department of Health.
n
nnBLS, ACLS, and PALS certification from American Heart Association is required.
