Overview
Respiratory Therapist - Advanced Practice, Night/Day Shifts
Facility details and assignment information are described below. The role involves working with adult patients (>18 years) in ICU and PCU settings. Travelers may have their own ICU assignment but will assist with treatments and tasks alongside other staff RTs. Assignment includes a 16-22 treatment floor allocation and will not go to the ED.
Responsibilities
BiPAP: V60 & Servo
Cough Assist
MetaNeb & IPV
TC monitoring
Bronchodilator medications
Specialty Gases: Nitric Oxide, Heliox
ABG (Gem 5000) draw/analysis
Assist with intubation, wean/extubate, vent management, bipap, cpap, nebulizers
Vents: Servo-U, Servo-I, Hamilton
Nitrous Oxide System: Noxbox
Bipap/CPAP: V60s
High Flow O2: Optiflow
Qualifications
BLS, RRT or CRT
ICU experience
ABG (Gem 5000) draw/analysis
EPIC experience (mandatory; assess recency)
Support on the Unit
RT: 24/7
Hospitalist: 24/7
Team Lead and Charge on night shift
EMR: EPIC – mandatory; verify recency of experience
Floating
Throughout the hospital
Orientation
One 12h day orientation on dayshift
Schedule is 4 weeks at a time
Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
