nWhat you will do as a Registered Respiratory Therapist:
nProvide individualized respiratory care for the entire age continuum. Assists with facilitating improvement in the overall quality of patient care. Utilizes a multidisciplinary approach and collaborates with the entire health care team in coordinating services rendered to all patients. Participates in orientation of staff and student training programs for Trinity Health System as a teaching institution representing the Respiratory Care department.
nWhat you will need as a Respiratory Therapist:
nnnSuccessful completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
n
nnRegistered as Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
n
nnCurrent licensure to practice in the State of Michigan as Respiratory Therapist.
n
nnCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association required.
n
nnMaintain Neonatal Resuscitation Practioner (NRP) and Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification. Both required within 6 months of hire.
n
nnPrevious work experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.
n
n nEssential Functions as a Respiratory Therapist:
nnnDemonstrates technical and clinical competence in adult critical care. Applies patient care protocols and utilizes assessment information to review and revise plan of care accordingly.
n
nnExcellent organizational skills for the completion of patient care. Demonstrates ability to prioritize therapy and patient care activities to meet changing demands.
n
nnCommunicates with healthcare providers, units, and other customers on an ongoing basis to coordinate services and exceed customer service needs. Acts as a resource to physicians, nurses, and other team members to address clinical patient care concerns.
n
nnEnsures appropriate documentation/charges are entered for the correct patient, encounter, date/time of service per practice expectations and facilitates corrections as needed.
n
nnAssists with tracking and monitoring of equipment and requests services for maintaining equipment as needed.
n
nnParticipates in on-going education and takes personal accountability to seek experiences in order to maintain skills/competency.
n
nnMaintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, associates, and visitors to Trinity Health System. Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.
n
nnBehaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of SJMHS.
n
nnAssumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
