Licensed Veterinary Technician - Specialty
Veterinary Surgical Centers | Gaithersburg, MD
$32.00-$40.00/hour, depending on experience and certification

Four-day work week
Monday-Thursday schedule (8:00 AM-6:00 PM)
No nights
No weekends
No on-call responsibilities

You’ll work closely with board-certified surgeons and other specialty professionals on a fascinating and rewarding caseload that includes:
Orthopedic surgery
Soft tissue surgery
Advanced imaging (CT and MRI)
Complex anesthesia cases

What You’ll Do
Assist board-certified surgeons during procedures and patient care
Monitor anesthesia using advanced multi-parameter equipment
Perform laboratory procedures and prepare outside laboratory samples
Obtain patient histories, weights, and vital signs
Provide exceptional nursing care for hospitalized patients
Assist with patient admissions, transfers, recoveries, and discharges
Support CT and MRI procedures
Deliver compassionate, professional client communication
Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and inventory
What We’re Looking For
Current Maryland Licensed Veterinary Technician credential
Associate degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program
Minimum 5 years of veterinary experience
Specialty, surgery, anesthesia, or advanced nursing experience strongly preferred
CT and MRI experience preferred but not required
Strong communication and critical thinking skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced specialty environment
Passion for providing exceptional patient care
Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
VTS (Anesthesia) and VTS (Surgery) candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
