Job Description
Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Unit Information
Location: Wichita, KS
Unit: Occupational Therapy
Daily Census: Approximately 250 active consults/day
Staffing: 30 staff members, with 17.29 FTEs
Staff Composition: 2:1 OTR to COTA ratio
Patient Ratios: Typically 9-13 patients assigned to each COTA daily
Equipment: General acute care DME
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience in Occupational Therapy
Active Kansas licensure
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma care
Experience with comprehensive stroke care
Key Responsibilities Conducting Occupational Therapy treatments as per patient care plans
Ideal Candidate Profile Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and a high level of accountability
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Flexibility in adapting to the dynamic nature of acute care practice
