Fire FighterCity of Houston announcement for the rehire of Houston Fire Department Certified Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician for the position of Fire Fighter. Exciting things are happening at the Houston Fire Department (HFD) and this is a phenomenal opportunity for former HFD Classified members to rejoin the team. Eligible to apply: Former HFD Classified Members - Certified Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technicians.Minimum Requirements1. Must have obtained the rank of Firefighter as a HFD Classified member 2. An Active/Current Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Certification AND 3. An Active/Current Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Certification Duties: Re-acclimation training (5 Weeks) - participates in lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions. Receives and participates in various types of training in fire suppression and emergency medical services. Participates in drills, demonstrations and instruction in hydraulics, pump operation, maintenance, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services.
