Job description
Release Governance Support Consultant - W2 only
Consulting background strongly preferred
Location: Onsite - St Petersburg Florida | Contract to Hire | Travel & occasional weekend work required
Onsite 3-5 days per week desired but 3 minimum
About the Role
Gravity IT Resources is seeking a Release Governance Support Consultant for a client engagement whose team manages the technology behind SCADA and ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) across multiple jurisdictions, supporting distribution grid operations and outage management.
This role sits within a large, complex release management organization and provides the coordination and governance support needed to get high-stakes system releases ready for go-live. It's not a purely administrative role, and it's not traditional project management - it's the connective tissue that keeps a release organization on track.
What You'll Do
Support go/no-go readiness meetings
Develop and coordinate Method of Procedure (MOP) documents
Maintain solution-readiness trackers
Support the release team in preparation for go-live
Follow up with stakeholders on outstanding responsibilities and exit criteria
Pull together information across a large, cross-functional release organization
Develop polished, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations
Communicate goals and readiness status clearly to stakeholders
Support weekend deployment activities as needed
What We're Looking For
Highly motivated, organized, and a strong communicator
Comfortable presenting and delivering information to stakeholders at all levels
Persistent - able to follow up and drive tasks to completion
High-energy, "go-getter" mentality
Roughly 5-10 years of professional experience
Consulting background strongly preferred (e.g., Big 4 or firms)
Technology, utility, or grid/distribution management experience is a plus
Willingness to work onsite, travel as needed for releases, and support occasional weekend deployments
Why This Role
Join a release organization managing large-scale ADMS deployments, supporting critical infrastructure across multiple jurisdictions. This is an immediate need with strong potential for extension as the client transitions from a major multi-year implementation program into ongoing sustainment and an annual upgrade cycle.
