The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to detail through many changes. This role reports to the Production Supervisor and is based out of our Sparta, Michigan location.Shift : 6p-6amPrimary Responsibilities include :Coverage to run filler, labeler, case packer, box former, and depalletizer in absence of standard operators.Complete quality checksKnows the purpose and proper operation of all safety switches, interlocks and safety devicesCan properly start and stop the machineryUnderstands and can properly operate all machine controls: mechanical, electrical and pneumaticProficient at performing product cutsKeeps the work area clean and free of debris and keeps the waste corrugated stacked neatly in the waste cartClears jams and resets the machinerySafely operates the electric pallet jack and is Forklift CertifiedAssists maintenance in size changeovers as necessaryFills out all needed documentation and performs first piece inspectionsCoordinates with the operators so the correct boxes are available to the case packerProficient in operating all line equipmentMaintains awareness of all safety proceduresPerforms other related duties as required and assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum Required QualificationsA high school diploma or equivalentCan properly fill out all required documentationHas successfully completed machine operator training on all pieces of equipmentCapable of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividingSuccessfully complete and maintain the Lassonde Pappas ForkliftExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDetailed oriented and can multi-taskAbility to run whalon, filler, labeler, case packer and line driver.Ability to complete all quality checks.Additional Preferred QualificationsExperience in the food/beverage industryPrevious experience in Manufacturing or production environmentAbility to direct, coach and train others.Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONSThis position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program.
